Microphones for every purpose and situation
A microphone is essential for the perfect transfer of sound. And we understand that this is different for every situation. Are you organizing a presentation at a trade fair? Then it's important that the speaker must be clearly audible and you want to minimize the influence from ambient noise. If you record a musician in a studio, you want to capture the full dynamics of the instrument. At Gearbooker you will find owners of microphones of all major brands, such as Sennheiser, Røde, Schoeps, Audio Technica, sE, AKG and Behringer. So if you are looking to rent a vocal microphone, a directional microphone, a videomic, shotgun mic or a clip-on tie mic, there is always one for rent near you.
Rent a microphone for vlog or video
Are you going to record a vlog or video? Then the
camera's built in microphone is often not sufficient. The quality often disappoints or there is too much static or ambient noise to record someone's voice in a clear and clean enough way. In that case, a clip on microphone (often called 'lavalier mic') is ideal. You will be able hear the voice clear, crisp and close, without annoying ambient noise or static. Often those systems are wireless, making a filmmaker's life very easy.
Another option is to rent a shotgun microphone or directional microphone. You mount it on your video camera, mirrorless or DSLR, right on the camera's hot shoe. As the name already discloses: you make sure the microphone's direction is to the sound source that you want to record. It's usually not a problem if the sound comes from a bit further away. Think for example of a person doing a presentation or speech, but also any other type of action. Quite useful for shooting or filming on location.
Top quality microphones for the sound studio
Are you going to record sound in a music studio or recording a a podcast? Then of course you want to make sure everything's recorded in the highest quality. That is also the idea behind a studio: you have a room with soundproof and sound insulated walls, so noises from the environment or from the outside won't bother you. You can therefore fully focus on recording your sounds. If your goals is a warm sound, for example to record a voice, acoustic guitar or wind instrument, a condenser microphone is a good option to rent. More types of special microphones are also available for example to record the low tones of a kick drum or of a bass amplifier.
Sound on location
Live events, such as parties, fairs, presentations or congresses require a completely different kind of microphone. Usually wireless and portability is the starting point. We have different sets for you, often with multiple microphones and transmitters, so you are ready in one go. You can also rent handheld microphones and lavalier microphones. The latter are really useful for interviews on stage or if a speaker really wants to have his hands free. If you need wireless, you're best of by renting a set of transmitter and receiver.
Do you want to record ambient sounds in their purest form and you can't or don't want to use your video camera's or photo camera's built-in recorder? Take a look at our
audio recorders. An audio recorder is a handy and very portable device with built-in stereo microphones to easily make high-quality recordings on location.
