What is a drone?
A drone with camera lets you take unique aerial photos or videos of, for example, a landscape, city sights, your holiday adventures, outdoor activities and much more. With a remote control, as a pilot, you control the drone from the ground and nowadays many drones can also fly independently through intelligent flight functions. With this they fly a pre-programmed route in the sky. The drone can also track a subject on the ground, such as a car, cyclist or pedestrian. On Gearbooker you rent drones in different price ranges and qualities: from consumer drones for beginners to professional drones. This way you can start easily to learn how to fly a drone and then switch to more extensive drones when your film productions and photo shoots require a higher quality or more advanced effects.
How do you get high quality footage with the drone?
If you want to rent a drone with a camera, you have a choice from Full HD, 4K (Ultra HD or UHD) or even 8K sensors. The sharpness of your footage depends of course on the resolution of the drone's sensor. But the size of the image sensor also plays an important role. With a larger camera sensor, you get much less noise in your images and the quality of night shots or filming in low light is also a lot higher.
Another important factor is the quality of the drone lens. Most drones have a fixed lens, but there are also professional drones for rent with interchangeable lenses. This is similar to the concept of a
mirrorless mirrorless camera or
DSLR where you can also switch lenses on the camera.
Most drones have its camera mounted on a gimbal. This is a two-axis or three-axis stabilizer that ensures that vibrations are compensated, giving you beautiful smooth images that are perfectly stabilized. When renting a drone to film with, make sure it is equipped with a gimbal.
Rent drones with 4, 6 or 8 propellers
Flying a drones is quite easy these days. The stability of operating a drone also has to do with the number of propellers of the drone. Drones with 4 propellers are also called quadcopters and these are the best-selling and most popular drones. Hexacopter are 6-wing drones and unmanned aerial vehicles with 8 propellers are called octocopters.
Renting a drone including a drone pilot
If you don't want to fly the drone yourself, or if you want to learn the tricks of the trade first, hire a pilot with your drone. A drone pilot is a person who has sufficient experience with drone flying and who can make the aerial recordings for you, exactly according to your wishes. He or she can also help you to operate a drone safely. You will also find drone pilots on Gearbooker!
