Why renting a projector is a good idea

Renting a projector is a cost-effective solution for those who need a projector for a one-time event, such as a presentation, conference, or movie night. Instead of spending a large amount of money on purchasing a projector, you can simply rent one for the duration of your event. Secondly, renting a projector allows you to access the latest technology, including high-resolution, high-brightness projectors that are ideal for large events or presentations. Thirdly, renting a projector is a convenient solution, as the rental company will often explain to you how to set up the projector and provide tips and tricks so you can focus on your event or presentation. Finally, renting a projector can be a flexible solution, as you can rent for the exact amount of time you need, without having to worry about storage or maintenance costs. If you need a projector for your next event, consider renting one from a reliable rental company.

Different types of projectors to rent

First you determine what you will rent the projector for. There are several types and types of projectors on the market. Every situation is different and every use has its own type of projector. For example, a mobile projector must be light and easy to carry, so that it can be taken quickly and easily to your appointment or meetings. A home cinema projector must have a full HD or 4K resolution, so that the films splash off your wall as sharply as possible. For schools there are educational projectors or short throw projectors, which can also be used in combination with a digital blackboard. In other words: which features and options should you pay attention to to make the right choice for a projector?

Resolution of a projector

The higher the image resolution, the better the image quality. The image resolution is very important, just like with photo cameras and LED TVs. A projector can always display a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels in a 4: 3 display. This resolution is sufficient to view live television images. For example, if you are going to connect your computer to the projector to show slides or view your photos with Powerpoint, an XGA resolution of 1024 x 768 is a lot better. For a standard projector, this 1024 x 768 format is the best choice, although the wider WXGA resolution makes it even better.

The so-called Full-HD projectors get the best resolution, which can display 1920 x 1080 pixels or 4K projectors without problems, which have 3840 x 2160 pixels. This sharpness allows you to project and enjoy in full High Definition.

Rent a projector with the right light output

When renting a projector, take note of its light output. This output is defined in ANSI Lumen. The higher the number of Ansi lumens, the higher the light output and the more powerful the projector's light beam. A higher light output offers you the possibility to project well visible even with incident daylight. You can also project a larger image with a higher number of Ansi lumens.

When a room is very lit by, for example, windows or lamps, you need a higher light output and therefore more Ansi lumens to get the projected image clearly visible. A larger projection also requires more ansi-lumen because the light has to be spread over a larger area. Finally, the surface is also important, because a white wall reflects the light less effectively than a projection screen. A projection on a normal wall is therefore less visible than on a projection screen.

Which projection techniques are most commonly used?

There are three types of projection techniques, namely DLP, LCD and LED. At Projector Expert you can also select projectors with 3 LCD technology. All techniques have unique properties, for example DLP projectors are often smaller and lighter and more resistant to mobile use. The contrast values are also higher and this ensures a sharp image with films and subtitles. The DLP projectors are therefore very suitable for home cinema. The LCD projectors are very suitable for business presentations and have a sharper data display, a better zoom and a higher lens shift. The light output also seems higher than with the DLP projectors. LED projectors do not use a projector lamp, so you do not have to replace them and the LED projector is also more economical. So this is an economical choice. The projectors are a bit more expensive to purchase and the light output seems less than with LCD and DLP.

Ideal viewing distance to the projection screen or the wall

The optimal viewing distance from the viewer to the screen varies depending on the resolution of the projector. With an HD Ready resolution of 1280x720, you have to take at least 1.8 times the width of the screen as the viewing distance. When using a Full HD projector with a resolution of 1920x1080, the minimum distance for optimal quality is 1.5 times the width of the screen.

Do you want an even bigger picture? Then a 4K resolution is the right choice. For 4K projectors with a resolution of 3840x2160, you can use the screen width as a viewing distance (1x). Thanks to the high resolution, the image, despite the short or long distance, is of high quality and the pixel structure is not visible. You can also take the viewing distance as a sitting distance.
